Hi Everyone!

It's been a long while since my last post but thought I would maybe start blogging again. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm a little rusty with blogging so just hang in there with me, please and thank you. I noticed in blog land the giveaways are a lot different from how we used to do them. No more just leaving a comment, it seems like. But I'm old school, so when we do have a giveaway that's how we are going to do it. No making you follow me on twitter, pinterest, tumbler, Facebook..etc,. Not sure when we will do a giveaway, but I think it will be soon!!!
So, the questions I have for you all.... How do you feel about "Rafflecopter" for giveaways these days? Do you like it more than just commenting? I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

My Livemocha Journal Week 3

I'm a Livemocha guide AND a Livemocha Language Exchange Partner!!! How cool is that?!
Sometimes I think that I don't know as much as I do, but yesterday I was speaking to someone in Spanish and they knew what I was trying to tell them! I found out that I didn't say it exactly the correct way but I got my point    across and was understood!!! I'm so excited!!
I have been saying a lot more things to my daughter and she is learning and understanding so much more!!!
I want to give myself a goal of becoming fluent by my daughters 2nd birthday next January.
I forgot to mention when your a Livemocha member not only will you be learning another language you can help others learn English (if you want to).
This week I worked on my Spanish probably about 5 days, I learned some new things, but mostly reviewed what   I learned in the last few weeks. I printed some flash cards too!!!:)  This week has been pretty busy just as the next 2 weeks will be for me....I might fill you all in on it at a later date!

My Future Military Man.

My son for a little over a month has been into anything dealing with the military. He says he wants to be in the "Army Force" :) He wants everything camouflaged and anything dealing with the Army. One of my little cousins left for basic training a few weeks ago and we wrote him this morning. My son drew a picture of him and himself with guns shooting the enemy. He also drew the "drill sergeant yelling and training them for combat.." I'm really proud of my little cousin AND my other little cousins who are now in the Military. I have a little cousin who is in the Air Force Academy in CO, a little cousin who just graduated Motor T School and is now officially a Fleet Marine and then this little cousin who just left for the Army. I'm so proud of them all and remember when they were little. I can't believe where they are now! I also have an older cousin who is serving as well. Oh and I can't forget about my cousins by marriage. 3 of  my cousins ( I think it's 3 it might be more) are military wives.... I'm proud of them all and thank all of them for their service! My son says he wants to be in the Military when he becomes a man too he says. I found a site that has Army Kid Gear (called KIDS ARMY) as well! I would so love one day if I could get this for him..... (Click HERE to see).  I also wanted to share some coloring pages we found online for any of you that know a little future Navy,Marine,Air Force or Army man :) I'm sure they would get a kick out of this! Thank you all who have served and who are serving!

Homemade Pore Strips (Recipe)!!

Have you ever used Biore Cleansing Pore Strips? You know, the ones that remove blackheads. I have a very long time ago when they first came out. Well yesterday while looking up different ways to get rid of blemishes I came across on how to make your own blackhead removal strips! I tried it and OMGoodness! It worked just as   good as the ones you pay tons of money on plus it was pretty cheap to make! No more blackheads for me! I will always use this recipe and give it 5 stars! I wanted to share with you so you can make your own too.
If you have allergies to milk and or gelatin do not use.

-Combine 1 tsp. unflavored gelatin and 1 1/2 tsp. of any type of milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir carefully with a spoon until completely mixed.
-Place the gelatin and milk mixture in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds. After removing the mixture, touch it with your fingers to make sure it is not hot or scalding before putting it on your face. (I put mine in for 15 secs and had to wait till it cooled down)
-Apply a thin coating of the gelatin mixture to your nose using your fingertips. If the mixture is too thick, it will not dry.
-Wait 10 to 15 minutes, or until the mixture dries completely. The gelatin is opaque when it is wet, and will become translucent when it is dry.
-Pull your skin while carefully peeling the gelatin strip off your nose. As you remove the gelatin strip blackheads and dirt will stick to the gelatin, clearing your pores!!!

Let me know how much you love this one since I know you will! As soon as my husband comes home I'm so going to have him do this too!!!

Getting Rid of Blemishes is NOT Easy!

Yesterday I came across some info on how to help blemishes. Has anyone heard of washing your face with lemon juice? My face has gotten worse so I figured I would give it a try. I found a site that also says to leave the lemon juice on your face overnight. Well  last night I tried it and OMGoodness it burned LOL but I figured that it had to be working. It stung and burned for maybe 5 minutes then felt a little tight. I guess it's supposed to shrink pores as well as diminish the appearance of scars. My blemishes didn't go away but my face felt smoother and despite the things I read about lemon juice drying out your face, mine didn't dry one bit! After washing my face this morning I put more all over my face to leave on the rest of the day. Like with everything you try, time will only tell if it's working or not.

I was using this Olay facewash that was working great and as of about a week ago I just started breaking out bad again (this time worse than before). I'm 27 years old you would think my face would be clear especially since I have never had a problem with acne until this year! My baby brother (22) has beautiful skin and has never had problems either. I know with him he NEVER touches his face nor does he let anyone touch his face. If I recall correctly, my mom will hug him and touch her face on his and he will wipe it off or wash it. (can't remember which exactly)

Has anyone tried the lemon juice thing? Did it work? What do you use to keep your face clear?

A Mission of Mine!

As you all know I have only talked to my 1 year old in Spanish since she was born. Well, now she is 14 1/2 months and my Spanish is limited. I knew enough to get me through this year with her, but if I want her to be fluent in both Spanish and English I NEED to get on the ball and start learning more myself which I have been trying to do.

If I need to tell her something and I don't know how to say it I look it up on Google Translator , use my Spanish/English Dictionary (it's always with me), but that doesn't help with how to say sentences correctly or I ask my mom (who is fluent in Spanish). Google Translator hasn't been always accurate as well and some things I say, I found out from my mom weren't correct and a word was being said in a way than what I wanted.

I have even tried Instant Immersion Spanish, there are 2 CDs and I passed both with flying colors. Everything that it taught I already knew. The games where fun, BUT easy ... this is for someone that doesn't know any Spanish.

If we watch Disney movies I select the audio in Spanish and the music we play is only Spanish as well. Yes, my husband and son talk to my daughter in English, but since she is around me more she just understands the Spanish I speak to her. She loves me to read to her and we have a few books that are in both Spanish/English. One toy that is also in Spanish/English and the other day we got her Baby Einstein Tarjetas de Aprendizaje de Idiomas. I do like these since she can see what they are AND on the back they use the words in different sentences which is also helpful. There's nothing in English on these cards and I'm glad I know what the sentences mean (they have helped a lot) I just wish there were more cards in the pack.

I'm determined to learn Spanish fluently and to teach my daughter as well. I admit I know A LOT more than I did last year, but what I do know should be way more as a parent trying to communicate with her child. We also got my son Hooked on Spanish  but he knew everything that they had on there as well from listening to me. It taught hola, adios, and the numbers in Spanish, which he already knew.

I have heard MANY things about Rosetta Stone and if you click HERE you can see the different levels of programs that they have to learn Spanish. It's pretty pricey, but to be fluent in a language I feel it's worth it 100%. You can try the FREE demo HERE as well! I tried it and passed but this is just a glimpse of the Rosetta Stone  program. I know there is much more to it and if I had this program (all 5 levels) I know I would be a lot more successful at becoming fluent in Spanish. I've read most of the reviews and there was nothing negative that I could find! There is no way that I could afford even one level, so for now I will continue to look online for more programs preferably free that can help me on this mission.  Is anyone fluent in another language? What is the best way that you learned? Did you use a program or self teach? What suggestions do you have for me? From now on I will post different sites or blogs that I come across that has helped me out as well! Thanks everyone for stopping by!!!

This is just so sad.....

I saw this article yesterday and even today this bothers me. An honorable man who fought for OUR country, lived in this country for almost 100 years is not considered an US Citizen?! Well, regardless of what the circumstances are, he IS 100%  US Citizen in my book! I copied and pasted the article below.

Ninety-five-year-old Leeland Davidson discovered recently that he's not considered a U.S. citizen, despite living nearly 100 years in the country and serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Davidson, from Centralia, Washington, told KOMO News that he discovered he wasn't a U.S. citizen when he was turned down for an enhanced driver's license he needed for a trip to Canada to visit relatives.
"We always figured because he was born to U.S. parents he's automatically a U.S. citizen," said Davidson's daughter, Rose Schoolcraft.
Davidson was born in British Columbia in 1916, but his parents didn't register the birth with the U.S. government to ensure they knew he was a citizen. He checked up on his citizenship before joining the Navy and was told by an inspector at the U.S. Department of Labor Immigration and Naturalization Service he had nothing to worry about. Now he worries that he won't be able to prove his citizenship, because his parents were born in Iowa before local governments started keeping records of birth certificates in 1880. "I want it squared away before I pass away," he says.
Schoolcraft says they tried to dissuade him from pursuing the matter. Employees at the local passport office scared them, telling her father "If he pursued it, (he could) possibly be deported or [be] at risk of losing Social Security."
"We keep telling him, leave it alone, leave it alone, and he won't, like a dog with a bone," Schoolcraft told the Centralia Chronicle. But Davidson says: "I want to get it done before I die." He also still wants to visit his friends and family in Canada. Sen Patty Murray's office is helping him with his application.

Calling ALL moms!!! Advice please!

My youngest is now 14 months old and as you probably remember from the post we had with the scare, she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth! Well, it seems like everything BUT food. I'm having a hard time getting her to eat food, but that can be another post.
I'm always picking up and vacuuming but she will find something even if it's hair! My older kids at this age didn't have this problem. It's frustrating since I keep close eye on her but all it takes is one second and we are back to Jan 1st...
Today I was making posole and cutting onions. Well, I guess a piece of onion fell on the floor and she sure did find at and put it in her mouth she spit it right out though.... I was thinking this is enough and thinking of how many things I have found in her mouth. I couldn't even count! I had to take her to the ER yesterday since she has been sick and vomiting even with all of that it doesn't stop her from putting things in her mouth that isn't food.

I know there has to be one mom out there that had a baby put every single thing in their mouth. What did you do to break the habit? Did you have a scare like we did? How long did this phase last? What advice do you have for me? Thank you soo much!!!!

A Little Girl's Thoughts on Praying for her Sister

Yesterday I was talking to a little girl. She was telling me how mean her sister is and some of the things her sister does. I told her sometimes kids are like that and can learn being like that from someone else.. Also that she needs to pray for her always no matter what she does and pray that God will show her how ugly her heart is so she can change for the better. I also reminded her sometimes bad things happen to good people. Basically not to let her sister get her down. She said " Ya that reminds me of a song called pray for you." I asked who it was by. I looked it up and listened to it... the first part I was like Awww this is a great Christian song!!! Then it started playing more and I was like !!! I started laughing. Then was like OH NO LOL I didn't mean to pray for her like that!!!! Kids have it all in them to pray like this sometimes, but thank God they learn better when they grow up. It's crazy that she thought of this song out of all songs when I said she needed to pray for her sister..

I was also thinking how sometimes adults might act like kids and pray this way too. :(. I admit before I was saved and didn't know a thing about prayer I would pray like this sometimes. I'm glad and thankful now that I know better. Now I would NEVER pray like that and have learned to LOVE the people that have treated or treat me badly.
