BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMING BLOGGERS!

To: The scammers (you know who you are)
The only reason I haven't blocked you is so that you could see this post. BOTH of you. I don't usually let things get to me, but when people are being used I can't just not say anything.I will not mention your names, but you know who you are and you BOTH should be ashamed of yourselves for taking advantage of people who trust you. I also wanted to let you both know that I will be giving a warning to the ones that I work with so another one doesn't get scammed as well.

To: My fellow bloggers:
As soon as I do a review/giveaway that very same day these scammers contact them to do one as well. One of the lovely ladies I have worked with agreed. The review was poorly done and the giveaway lasted about 2 days without the item up for review even arriving! 7 comments were made total and 2 of them were from the host of the blog. The "winner" was actually talked about in a prior post. Introducing her and telling people to go to her blog. Next post she is the "winner". A rigged giveaway and poor review doesn't sit well with me at all. BOTH of these people started their blog on the same day (May 20). I know it's the job of the other person to check out the one doing the review, but it's people like this that make it so hard for companies to trust us to do real reviews/giveaways. I have seen some of her friends and a few of you (3)are following her as well. I talked with one of our well respected blogging buddies and she said "Unfortunate there are a lot of blogs out there like those" I had no clue!!! So, this is probably not new to you all but it was to me. Sorry I just had to vent to you all.

Wow! Thanks for letting us know...I'm a very new blogger so I had no idea either! It is horrible that people would use what is a hobby and lifestyle for some and turn it into a scam.

I am having a hard time understanding the particulars(I can be a little slow, so bear with me!)

These scammers contact the same company or product's company right after you do a review for that company? Do they ask the company to do a review for the same product?

And if the company says yes they write up a review but never sends the giveaway item?

Am I understanding this correctly so far or am I missing something?

It would be great if you could let me know if I understand these things correctly and if I am also following or being followed by this person!

Thanks, Glenda and God bless

Aww this just s*cks! Riles me up reading about this scammers!

I've just started last month to do product reviews and giveaways (whenever possible) and it's not easy (before that I focused on reviews for books and nursing rooms).

Firstly of course, majority of the product reviews are only applicable to US and/or Canada and secondly, shipping the product to me is not that cost effective and thirdly, most of the companies in my country are not into this idea. Probably blogs are still not a big factor in Malaysia to help push their products.

But nevertheless, I keep trying and I really appreciate those companies that agreed for product reviews. I sent them my review draft, inform them of the giveaway rules and also when I post up the reviews and giveaways.

I hope these scammers you mentioned realized they are being watched now and I sure hope they are not following me or I'm not following them.

Thanks for sharing this out and sorry if it's a bit lengthy.

That's crazy! I am learning all about the nastier side of blogger and it is really quite sad. I actually discovered a few days ago that a part of my review was actually stolen. I was very disheartened and shocked. I have been keeping a very close eye just to see if it happened again. Unfortunately it makes me wonder if this has happen to me before and I never knew about it. I just happened to find out because I subscribe to their newsletter!!!! Imagine that :O( Hopefully these people will gather a conscience and stop it!

Wow I had no idea either. I'm new to blogging and entering giveaways myself. I've probably been entering giveaways for 2 weeks now. Last week I came upon a blog and actually recognized the lady hosting the giveaway, she was a gal I went to school with back in the 90's, I thought it was pretty cool to come upon a blog/giveaway from a person I actually knew of. I went about entering the giveaway. When the giveaway was over and a winner was announced I recognized the winner as another gal we both had gone to school with and someone she hung out with in school. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but that sure got me thinking about the honestly of some bloggers hosting giveaways. It would be nice if the company sponsoring the giveaway prize, picked the winner through random.org themselves. Just my opinion.
