Wordless Wednesday

Cecilia on her birthday :) We got her a cupcake which I let her try and she didn't like at all. She has never had sweets like that and wasn't fond of it either. She did like playing with the icing and that was about it. It's a good thing though:)

He Really Loves Me!

Who? My son!! Sure, him and I have our ups and downs, but not too many kids I know who barely turned 5 says the things he does. It's been a few months now that he has been doing this...

Eddie Rey will get some clean underwear to put on or socks, come to me and say "Mom I appreciate you washing my clothes. You do a good job! I love you!" Also, when he sits down to eat after saying his prayers he will say "Mom, I appreciate you cooking for me. Thanks so much....you're the best!!!"  He does this almost everyday at least one time. It makes me feel so good that I have a son who can be so considerate of the things I do for him. I didn't even know that he noticed. He even told me "Mom, I appreciate Dad paying the rent." I was thought WOW... OMGoodness. I said" tell your dad then." He went and told my husband "Dad I appreciate you." He didn't tell him exactly what he told me, but I told my husband what he said.

When I was 5 years old, I know I didn't think of the things my mom did for me and I know I never told her that I appreciate all the things she did either. The mom I had when I was a little girl is the mom I want to be to my kids as well. She was supermom. She made my clothes and hair bows, was a room mom in school, took me to swimming lessons, cooked/baked all the time and we had a super clean house with everything in it's place. She is the mom I strive to be like and not once when I was 5...even 6.7.8.9 or 10 did I ever stop and think how hard she worked. I'm so grateful to have a son that "appreciates" me :)  I really have been thinking about this and it makes me so happy:) By the way...Mom, if you read this...I just want you to know I appreciate everything that you did for me when I was a little kid. I want to be that supermom you were and love you so much. I wish I had been like how your grandson is now, appreciated and took the time to tell you when I was little.

Happy 1st Birthday to My Baby!

Happy 1st Birthday to my youngest daughter!
Update on this year.
She is still my tiny hiny fitting now into 3-6 months clothes, newborn socks and some newborn shoes. Size 1 shoes are still too big so she is now kinda in the middle. At 10 months she started crawling (on big brothers birthday). She has visited Carlsbad Caverns, Ruidoso, the State Fair in Albuquerque and the Balloon Fiesta there as well! About 91/2 months we changed her name from Teresa Evelyn Cecilia to Cecilia Evelyn Delfina. We already had a major scare which you might remember I wrote about 2 posts ago. That day was her first plane ride (not under the best circumstances). She understands Spanish too! When I talk to her I speak in the Spanish that I know. If I don't know how to say what I want to say to her I look it up or ask my mom. My husband and son speak English to her so she is learning both. At 11 months she got her first little tooth and right now her second tooth is coming in! Out of all my kids she was the latest at getting her first tooth and the only one that had only one tooth for a month!
Today is also one year that we have been breastfeeding without any supplements or bottles! YAY us!! She is starting to walk along furniture and it's a matter of days before she starts walking on her own!
This is a song my grandma used to play for my mom (Cecilia) on her birthday and I will do the same for MY Cecilia.
Feliz CumpleaƱos Cecilia!!! ¡Te quiero!

My Thoughts on the 1955 Good Housewife's Guide!!!

There are 3 different types of people who are going to read this. Ones that agree 100%, disagree 100% or the ones that are going to be in the middle. I choose to be the type who agrees 100%. I have read this a few times and am fascinated in the pride women used to take in keeping their house a home and their family a family. I admire how hard they worked. This reminds me of  PROVERBS 31: 10-31 who I honestly strive to be like ( I don't do the best job, but God is helping me) There were no distractions such as blogs, facebook, texting, emailing,...etc. Sometimes I think I don't have time....but if I cut out everything that they didn't have in 1955 or 1855 then I would have plenty of time. This is my honest opinion regardless of what generation I'm living in...I'm 27 years old and wish I lived in a time when it was like this.

This has been on the internet for awhile, it was supposed to come out of a home economics book in 1955. This would never be in one now, even though I think it should. ..... I hope you all have fun reading. I would love to hear what you think and have to say!

**Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready, on time, for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him, and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home, and the prospect of a good meal (especially his favorite dish) is part of the warm welcome needed.

**Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you’ll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair, and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.

**Be a little more gay and interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.

** Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip though the main part of the house just before your husband arrives.

** Gather up schoolbooks, toys, paper etc. and then run a dust cloth over the tables.

** Over the cooler months of the year, you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too. After all, catering for his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.

** Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children’s hands and faces (if they are small), comb their hair and, if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures, and he would like to see them playing the part. Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer, and vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet.

** Be happy to see him.

** Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.

** Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

** Make the evening his. Never complain if he comes home late, or goes out to dinner, or other places of entertainment without you. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his very real need to be at home and relax.

** Your goal: Try to make your home is a place of peace, order, and tranquility where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.

** Don't greet him with complaints and problems.

** Don’t complain if he comes home late to dinner, or even if he stays out all night. Compare this as minor compared to what he may have gone through that day.

** Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.

** Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.

** Don’t ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house, and as such, will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.

** A good wife always knows her place.

I agree...a woman like this "her price is far above rubies"!!!

A Scare For Me and a Warning For Any Parent!!!!

A little over a week ago my son and daughter were playing, she would crawl a little in his room and he would tell her "get out of my room little girl" (in a playful voice) pick her up and bring her back in here. I could see her and him playing the whole time and was watching them.. They were both laughing on and off. Well the last time he brought her in here, she crawled to me with her head down and when she looked up, she reached for me with one hand and her face was purple... she then fell over I reached for her as soon as I saw this and picked her up, also started panicking. She was dark purple now and not moving, she went limp in my arms. I pushed her stomach and I didn't know what to do. I put my finger in her mouth and didnt feel anything. I yelled at my son" WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!" (I know he didn't do anything and I felt horrible for saying that, afterward) When I said that my son went into the room and shut the door.. I was crying and yelling for her to please breathe. I put my finger back in her mouth and felt something in her throat I pushed it down with my finger and she still wasn't moving and the same color. I started bouncing her and pushing her stomach and the color starting coming back, she started to breathe and got real pale. I didn't know what it was that she was chocking on and was worried so we went to the ER. They did an xray and said it wasnt metal but flew us to UNM in Albuquerque. We got there about 9:30 pm and said no food for her. The next day they put her under and put a camera down her thoat They said whatever it was it was gone, her stomach was empty and it was passing..

She is fine now thank God. All while this was happening my 5 yr old (after I yelled) went in the room he was crying and praying. When we were going to the ER I went to get him and could hear him. He was saying in "Jesus name let my sister be ok. God please don't take my sister. In Jesus name let my sister stop choking. I rebuke you satan get your hands off of my sister. In Jesus name God don't take my sister I love her!!" I know God heard him...

My daughter is always with me and she never is out of my view. She even takes showers with me, sleeps with me etc (since she was born)... It could happen to anyone. I couldn't sleep that night since every time I closed my eyes I saw her lifeless face..I think if I would have been out of the room even for 2 min I could have came back and found her on the floor....It was horrible and never would wish it on anyone. I have heard stories and have thought oh not me I always watch my kids....even though I was watching her I didn't see her put anything in her mouth. It was probably while she was crawling that she picked something up without me even knowing. I wanted to post this as a warning to all parents. Even though your kids are always with you and you always know what your kids are doing sometimes things go unseen. Now I'm going to strap her in the wrap and she is going to be on me until I don't know what age! . I keep hugging her and kissing her and still crying, thanking God she is still here and my son for being the lil man of God that he is and praying when I was flipping out.

Titanium Wedding Band by Titaniumknights REVIEW & GIVEAWAY!!!!

Titanium rings seem to be the new thing I have noticed. My husband and I were married and couldn't afford rings for either of us and haven't been able to buy any. It's been 2 years in May that we have been married! I was so excited to hear from Titaniumknights and was blessed to get to review a ring for my husband and for myself!

About TITANIUMKNIGHTS (from shop)
We are a family owned business (husband/wife team) 8 years experience crafting quality titanium rings and wedding bands.

The husband: Crafter of the rings. Each ring is cut one at a time after it is ordered, to precision specs on a CNC lathe to jeweler quality exacting standards.
Then each ring is smoothed/finished, in our little shop here at home, to the finish ordered.

The wife: Keeper of the computer. Manager of all the packaging, shipping, order processing, answering convos, etc. etc. etc.

We are not a big operation here, just the two of us, so you can be sure you are working direct with the owners of this little business.

Average turnaround time is 2-3 business days before shipping. Buyer would be notified of any delays beyond this standard turnaround time.
Making rings is our full-time job, so we can guarantee FAST turnaround with NO compromise on quality.

We do our best to treat our customers the way we would want to be treated in a business transaction. Your questions will be answered, and we will be upfront with any information you request.

Ultimately, you need to be satisfied with your purchase and that is what we strive for.

We THANK YOU for taking the time to shop with us - you will not be disappointed!

My Review
One of the things that I liked is dealing with the owner and how fast they responded to my questions. I couldn't even pick which one I wanted! I ended up sending a list of the ones I would like and had them pick it out. My rings were made and came super fast. The packaging was beautiful and the rings fit both my husband and I perfect! The one they picked was just gorgeous! Overall, Titaniumknights get an A++++++ for communication, customer service, shipping, packaging and quality. My husband and I agree the comfort fit is very comfortable and is a better fit than any other ring we have worn. Without a doubt, I was NOT disappointed and want to thank Titaniumknights for giving me this opportunity to do such a special review that will be remembered for a lifetime.
